Our Story

A Family for Every Child

Hope for AIDS Orphans was born from heartbreak — the deep pain of watching innocent children lose their parents to HIV/AIDS, left alone, terrified, and forgotten in a world that felt too big and too cruel.

Today, in Jinja, Uganda, under the heartfelt leadership of Daniel Mwebaza, we open our arms wide to these little ones. Together with our devoted partners at RachelAlexander Ministries, we give them what every child truly deserves: a real family that holds them close, a safe home where they can rest without fear, warm meals that fill empty tummies, medicine that keeps their bodies strong and their futures alive, schoolbooks that open doors they never thought possible, and — most importantly — love, the kind that gently heals the invisible wounds deep inside.

Behind every bright smile you see today is a child who once cried themselves to sleep at night — and now, because of Daniel, RachelAlexander Ministries, and supporters like you, dares to dream again.

A Letter From Our Director

My name is Daniel Mwebaza, I am the Director of Hope for AIDS Orphans, P. O. Box 842, Jinja, Uganda, Africa. That's me holding Mariam, one of our orphan girls.

Hope for AIDS Orphans started in 2014 by several orphans, including me, as a way of fighting the tragedies of the AIDS epidemic, which took our parents, and by supporting the abandoned orphans, sick adults and all vulnerable kinds of people. We also do this work to begin to pay back to God for what He has done for us, that is, "permitting us to survive."

Our new orphanage home in Jinja

We work in many villages in the country and we are based at our orphanage home in Jinja where we live and operate in a new building. We have managed to house 14 orphans and we support a great number in our outreach. We now have a brand new orphanage building and so we can support more.

We welcome anyone to volunteer with us in this effort. We want to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support. God bless you all.

— Daniel

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Every gift goes toward the same four essentials the children rely on: shelter and family, nutrition and health, education, and everyday care and love. You can see exactly which items are needed right now in the Causes section above.

Yes. All donations are processed securely through PayPal, so your payment details are never shared with us directly.

No. Due to the high cost of shipping items to Uganda, we do not accept direct donations of physical goods. Instead, you can donate the monetary value of a specific item you would like to provide, such as a school uniform, bedsheets, or a mosquito net. Your donation will be used to purchase that exact item locally in Uganda, ensuring it reaches the children quickly, cost-effectively, and without expensive international shipping fees.
